and #3 We do not at this moment, know how active the community is going to be with trading, we dont know if the markets will be exclusively set by streamers in the early seasons.Īnd at the end of the day, being able to downgrade HRs, hurts community interaction, it hurts trading, and trivializes SSF / GSF. #2 we've already seen that some rune words have been rebalanced, this could have a MASSIVE shift on the market of how runes are valued. It will eventually happen to everyone, usually I need 1 chipped gem for rune upgrade recipe. For runes, youd have 1 Eld rune (and higher quality runes) + hellforge hammer 3 lower runes. but they have their purposes, HOWEVER, what we dont know, is how the rune words will be affected in the market of PD2, for a few reason #1 with the rebalancing of unique items we could see a shift in the market causing runes to be FAR less valued. So the brand new cube recipe would be 1 flawed gem (or higher quality gem) + horadric malus 3 chipped gems. Even if you made the recipe 2x cham + new item = downgrade unless that new item was as rare as high runes, you are having lost value on using runes that could other wise gain you VASTLY more value.Īnd youre right, cham and zod are almost dead runes. You would literally be losing value on making those rune words as opposed to downgrading. If you’re a veteran of Diablo 3, you may have. If you want to take the gems out of gear, you’re gonna need to use the mystical artifact itself to do it. None of this just popping the gems out in an easy, breezy way. Zod and Cham, are literally never used again, how can you justify making rune words LIKE BOTD or a pride/Hand of justice / doom. By destroying them forever with the astonishing power of the Horadric Cube, splintering their very essence. and if you end up allowing a market force like that, the market will not only be all of the place, but you will also have the problem of people being able to finish their builds even quicker. Jah and ber will always be far more rare than cham, just simply because they make better more useful rune words. If you only wanna play single player, its just an added challenge.īut as far as breaking Hrs, it would just quickly demolish the market. You just have to know what youre looking for. farming HRs isn't that big of a chore, i think at the start of ladder i can pull between 1 - 3 hr a day, and with a full gear character, its something like 8-10. but, with the increased rune drop rate of things like PoD and what i hope senpai implements. Just my thought.Listen i know it can suck to try and farm high runes occasionally. This would help elevate the popularity of the other less played top tier items like Fury and perhaps create a better currency system for Diablo. I think more of the God tier items should be like Inifity in terms of rune price, since they’re God tier items. Some items should just be insanely difficult to make due to its power creeps and I feel like this is primarily true for only one item: Infinity. Take a look at Enigma, it could use a look at…Remove ith and replace it with an ist as an example or make it a 4 piece socket instead of a 3. There are a lot of runewords that exist and imo, they could use a look at again and see if they could reshuffle the runes for certain items. It would probably be better to introduce new high tier runewords that require a Zod rune or a Cham rune and/or rework a few runewords that we have already to incorporate a Zod or Cham rune and make some runewords more difficult to create, for example Grief or have the shield version of “Spirit” have be its own version of a runeword which could include higher tier runewords as another example.
